We went for a drive this afternoon when the rain let up and were completely surprised that the Carmel beach was GONE! Normally there's about 100-200 yards of glistening white sand but not today! The ocean was all the way up to the sea wall, lapping over the bottom of the stairs. I guess this is the winter ocean, fueled by storms!
We did not venture down the stairs today.
