Favorite fingers, don't fail me!

As anyone knows who has spent any time with Tommy, he LOVES to suck on his upside-down middle and ring fingers. He does this instead of sucking on his thumb- it is so funny! Here is one picture showing this (I know it's a bad picture since I tried to sneak up in Dave and Tommy's photo, but it is here to illustrate the point):



So while in Hawaii on the beach, he tried to suck his fingers while completely covered in sand. Here are the fingers sneaking up into his mouth:



And here is the reaction when he tasted the sand. It was followed by much whining and sticking his tongue out to get me to clean it off:


I just had to share this as it makes me laugh and laugh every time I see it!

nice work. We had some sand-in-the-mouth incidents in San Diego recently, as well. C has had a very chapped thumb (from sucking), so we encouraged her to try the finger, which she dutifully did. she did it so well, though, that the finger started getting chapped. That, combined with our worrying about long-term consequences of finger sucking, led us to encourage her back to the thumb, to which she's transitioned back nicely. Tommy is one cute kiddo! great pictures!
